Another proud milestone to report: THE BOOK OF MYSELF (450,000 copies sold in 3 editions), which I co-authored with my beloved deceased grandfather Dr. Carl Marshall, just received its 2,000th Amazon review last week!

This recent review warms my heart:

"Great help to get my life documented. I've had a very interesting, hard, blessed, sad, joyous life. Most people that know parts of my past have told me I should write a book on how I've made it through. I've tried but don't know where to begin. I bought this book to at least document my travels and perhaps leave my story to anyone interested in hearing it. There are great segments that ask very poignant and thought provoking questions. Deep questions that literally make you stop and really think of what to write. This isn't a book of frivolous, trivial, "what's your favorite color" kinda thing. It forces one to really dig deep inside and be 100% honest. I'm taking my time in answering the questions and at times...it does bring up strong emotions from past traumas. If you want to share your true deep and honest story of your life...this is a fabulous book to get. After all...once we're all gone on this planet, our words may still be helpful to others in their dark times. Great purchase!"

Big News! After 16+ years with Berrett-Koehler Publishers and 50 years in the workforce, as of the first of this month, I am retired. But I think of "retired" as BK authors Ken Blanchard said to "Refire!, Don't Retire," Richard Leider said to "Reimagine Life" in the final decades, and as Parker J. Palmer said to "focus on creative engagement with the young" in his chapter on "The Dance of the Generations." My wife Kate prefers the word "Independence" over "Retired," and that resonates with me, too. For these last 16+ years, MUCH GRATITUDE 🙏 to my fellow BK staff and board members, authors, partners, shareholders, and most of all, our change-maker readers for co-creating our mission to connect people and ideas to create a world that works for all!
