It’s hard to believe that he’s gone. He was the first person I sat next to on my first day of work at IDscan. It was a tumultuous time in my life and, as Margaret Hartnett so eloquently put it, Daniel Sáez Trigueros helped me stay centered with his profound calmness.

Daniel and I partnered so well on so many things. One of those things was a practical application for his facial recognition algorithms on mobile devices (pre Face ID, mind you) and it was extra challenging because, well, we looked alike. Working with him on this felt cutting edge - I got such a thrill from seeing this work in real life, but he was always so poised and collected with each result. Unflappable.

I was so fortunate to call him a colleague, and even more so to call him a friend. I will miss him dearly and I hope his family, friends, and our group of colleagues at IDscan can all find peace. RIP my friend, I’ll miss you.

It’s time for a new challenge!

Thank you to Charles Schwab for trusting me with the opportunity to work with your mobile applications. I’m proud to have worked on them with the team.

I’ll be joining LTK (formerly rewardStyle & LIKEtoKNOW.it) as a Principal Engineer at the end of this month!
