Through the generosity of our communities and the support of folks like you, the Brooklyn Independent Middle School successfully opened for the 2019/20 school year and is now in the middle of its Spring 2020 Campaign.
Like many families, however, BKI has undoubtedly been affected by Covid-19, but know that we are extremely proud of how the entire BKI Community has responded to the crisis. In close collaboration with families, the team has been nimble and responsive in implementing an effective remote learning program for our students. They have provided both consistency and dynamism by maintaining an inspiring dedication to academic rigor and creative learning during this difficult time.
These efforts have not been without terrific challenges. While we have made sure that all BKI students have access to the necessary technology, food, and mental health services at home and have adapted our project-based curriculum to this new reality, we have had to cancel three significant Spring fundraising events.
