David Overlack

PhD Inernational Health

David Overlack is a seasoned Public Health generalist with expertise in developing and implementing humanitarian aid programs in conflict and natural disaster environments.

He has served as an International Emergencies Coordinator with the Australian Red Cross, overseeing emergency relief programs in countries like Dafur, Sudan, and Pakistan.

David also brings military experience as a health officer, focusing on setting up portable surgical field units for critical medical interventions.

His specialties lie in working in challenging environments, assessing health needs, and executing program developments with precision.

David pursued his education with a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) and a Master's (Hons) degree in International Health from the Curtin University Centre for International Health.

He has held key positions such as a FACT Team Leader in Ethiopia with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and as a Delegate at the Australian Red Cross.

Currently, David is a dedicated PhD Candidate at Curtin University of Technology, constantly seeking to enhance his knowledge and contribute to the field of public health.
