Assistant Vice President Research Strategy and Impact at York University

Dr. David Phipps, a prominent figure in knowledge mobilization and research management, holds a Ph.D. in Immunology from Queen's University and an MBA from the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management.

With a background in HIV research and a wealth of experience in academia and research institutions, Dr. Phipps has garnered numerous awards recognizing his contributions to the field.

Currently serving as the Assistant Vice President Research Strategy & Impact at York University, he founded the Knowledge Mobilization Unit, which focuses on maximizing the impact of university research on economic, social, and environmental sectors.

He has led various initiatives and networks, such as Research Impact Canada and Kids Brain Health Network, showcasing his dedication to advancing knowledge mobilization practices on a global scale.

An immigrant settler residing in Toronto, Dr. Phipps is committed to promoting impactful research in collaboration with diverse communities, acknowledging and respecting the indigenous territory where he resides.
