The Importance of Internships at ANGIN

This marks yet another exciting batch of "interns" consultants joining ANGIN, this time from Singapore Management University (thanks for the partnership). Since the founding of ANGIN, we have ushered many interns into our organization. Like many entrepreneurs, we initially hired interns at the beginning of our journey due to limited resources. As time went by, our team expanded, yet we still hired interns because our view of internships gradually evolved.

We Value Real-World Experience Over Academic Credentials A university degree could be key, but more is needed in today's job market. Employers like us look for candidates with real-world experience who can quickly adapt and navigate complex situations. At ANGIN, we prioritize hiring those who demonstrate practical competence. Our interns engage in real projects to develop soft skills like communication and problem-solving, emerging as confident and employable individuals.

We Believe in Fair Compensation Internships are crucial for career development but can be costly. At ANGIN, we believe in compensating all work and rejecting unpaid internships as unfair. We pay our interns a stipend to ensure inclusivity, allowing talented individuals from all socioeconomic backgrounds to join us without financial barriers.

We Bestow Empowering Titles and Roles At ANGIN, we address our interns as consultants, valuing their unique experiences and integrating them into our team. This approach empowers them and fosters a commitment to delivering tangible outcomes, enhancing diversity in perspectives and opinions within the organization.

We Provide Professional Development Support Understanding the value of referrals and recommendation letters, we support our interns’ future careers by providing strong endorsements. This assistance boosts their attractiveness to potential employers and eases their transition to subsequent internships or jobs.

Closing Remarks: Big fish in a small pond or small fish in a big pond? Interns can choose between large and small organizations. Large companies may offer prestige but often need more meaningful experiences due to their size and vertical hierarchy. In contrast, smaller companies like ANGIN offer exposure to real-world situations, client interactions, and project management, providing a well-rounded experience. Smaller teams foster innovation and fluidity, making them an ideal choice for a comprehensive internship experience. Consider the balance between branding and expertise when choosing your next internship.
