Dean Smith is an Australian politician and Liberal Party member of the Australian Senate since May 2012, representing Western Australia.14 He currently serves as the Shadow Assistant Minister for Competition, Charities and Treasury in the Coalition's Shadow Economics Team, a position he was appointed to in June 2022.25

Born on May 15, 1969, Smith grew up in Port Hedland and Perth's northern suburbs as the son of a WA Policeman.24 He attended the University of Western Australia, graduating with honors in political science.4
