Highlights
I recently had the all-too-rare opportunity to meet with so many incredible partners and share some exciting news about Deed.
We flew out to SF for Goodera’s first-ever Global Volunteering Summit I had the opportunity to catch up with some of our awesome partners including Kate Walsh from Airbnb, Pauline Tarpey from Tesla, Monoswita Saha from Kyndryl, Angie Brewer from BDO, Marissa O'Rourke from ServiceNow; as well as old friends doing impactful things--Afdhel Aziz (He/Him) & Tauna Dean. I’m still thinking about the great ideas and conversations we shared.
A particularly memorable moment was when I had the honor of sharing the stage with Kate Walsh and Abhishek Humbad. We talked with refreshing honesty and inspiration about the challenges and opportunities facing the social impact space and how technology can be of real use. It was energizing to see the room’s response to our volunteer library integration with Goodera and hear how some real leaders who are planning to help their employees make a difference through volunteering.
On day two, our own Christine Tringale led an expert roundtable on the volunteering piece social impact reporting. The question I’m still thinking about is: How can impact leaders use data to tell compelling stories and inspire others to join us?
And who could forget Chris Jarvis's powerful talk on transformational volunteering. You are a true social impact champion!
I had a deeply rewarding experience at GVS 2024, and I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Abhishek Humbad, Virginia Tenpenny, Vijay krishna, and the entire Goodera team for all your hard work. Not only did this event deepen Deed + Goodera’s partnership, it connected an entire global community of people who share a vision for a better world. Can’t wait for next year!
I am deeply saddened and angered by today’s events. At Deed, we will always stand by and aid the marginalized. Internally, we will be offering support to any individual employee who is detrimentally impacted by this decision and have evolved our internal healthcare benefits and policies as part of our commitment to providing a safe and inclusive workplace. I invite the broader community to take action by organizing, protesting, donating, and volunteering in support of reproductive rights.
