Thrilled to announce my episode of "Work It Out Wombats!" premiered on PBS on Friday. I had a blast as a PBS / WGBH Radio and Television Writing for Animation Fellow, and it's really fulfilling to see an animation episode from first pitch to final product, I wrote a song for the episode and even got one hard joke in there for parents!
In writing this episode I had a 'learning goal' for children to notice and identify everyday situations where objects and events go in a certain order (sequence numbers 1-10). Then I game-i-fied that goal by having Malik and Zadie teach their younger sibling Zeke how to count to 10 by playing 'I spy' and collecting friends throughout the Treeborhood. A game within a game to teach a counting song.
My buddy said "You should've made them count to 12 so they can spell your whole last name" hahah
I had a blast working with the Wombats team and you can watch the episode here (min 13'40): https://lnkd.in/eJdfzvDS
