I was honored to have been selected to make a presentation at the 2023 E-ISAC sponsored GridSecCon conference held in Quebec City, Canada, a couple of weeks ago. Cyber, physical, and supply chain security were the areas of focus for this 12th annual grid security conference, and more than 450 security experts representing a cross-section of industry and government partners from across North America attended the event.
During the conference, I had the privilege of delivering a presentation on The Malicious Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the evolving threats facing the electricity sector. I highlighted that as malicious use of AI capabilities becomes more mature and widespread, the threat landscape the electricity sector will face will change as well, in such ways as the expansion of existing threats; the introduction of new threats; and threat actors TTPs. I provided examples across cyber, physical and corporate security, and concluded with a few areas of continued focus and action.
