Dennis Skarr is a seasoned electronics technician with a wealth of experience in avionics, control systems, information systems, and cyber security. Currently, he leverages his expertise at Everett Community College, where he instructs, establishes industry connections, and designs cyber security courses.

With over 12 years of military service, Dennis has always been drawn to enhancing technical training programs. Notably, he recently crafted a comprehensive 40-hour industrial control system security class for the Air National Guard.

Before transitioning to academia, Dennis acted as a consultant for the Washington State Department of Veteran Affairs. In this role, he collaborated with various stakeholders to develop training programs related to a Department of Energy grant focusing on Smart Grid workforce development. His valuable input, stemming from a military veteran's standpoint, significantly influenced the success of these initiatives.

Dennis's commitment to public service shines through his diverse career. From serving in the US Navy as an Avionics Electrician to undertaking missions in Afghanistan, he has demonstrated unwavering dedication. Additionally, during his college years, Dennis devoted a significant amount of time to AmeriCorps, aiding fellow veterans in navigating the transition from military to academic life.

An innate talent for instruction coupled with a lifelong passion for computers propelled Dennis towards a fulfilling career in teaching. Despite potentially sacrificing the chance at becoming prom king due to his fascination with computers in the early 90s, this interest has contributed immensely to his successful journey in the technology field.
