Highlights
eBay Sneakers "The Footprint" A Look at the Sole of Black Sneaker History was one of my favorite campaigns to lead this year!
"The Footprint" weaves through four narrative chapters from the 70s to the present day that represents the different eras of Black impact on the sneaker game and feature icons, Dapper Dan (Harlem's Hip Hop Tailor), Dr. D'Wayne Edwards (The President of the first HBCU dedicated to Footwear), Aleali May (The 2nd Woman To Design Her Signature Shoe with Jordan), and Frank Cooke (The Innovator Behind Some of The Worlds Hottest Kicks).
With it being #InternationalWomensDay, I wanted to share one of the powerful stories we created with Aleali May on Black Women's impact on the sneaker game.
As a Black Woman Sneaker Enthusiast, I've always felt and seen the Black culture's impact on the sneaker game; however, we don't always get the credit we deserve — especially with sneakers being a $70 billion industry, yet only 5% of US sneaker stores are Black-owned. Let's make this a more equitable space.
Shout out to the team for such an amazing campaign and for using our platform to uplift stories that deserve it!

This Black History Month I was asked to moderate a powerful discussion on “How We Built It and Why It Matters” panel hosted by Black at The Many.
This panel was full of some of the industries most game changing women who are leaders in marketing and are using their platforms to create more diverse and inclusive spaces. Thank you, Felicia La Tour, Natasha Hollis , Apryl Gordy and Maryann Bell for sharing that it’s important to:
-
Be around people that feed your higher-self. Choose wisely. And, get therapy.
-
Don’t get an ally. Get an accomplice when searching and creating more equitable spaces.
-
F*ck it up. Don’t be afraid to be disruptive and change the world.
I appreciate The Many agency for giving us the platform for such an impactful dialogue.
