Hello Linkedin connections!
I recently embarked on a new career path at Imperial Sign Corporation in the building signage industry.
After 6 months, I thought I'd share some observations I've made thus far.
There are three key ingredients to a successful signage project:
1.) Visibility
Ensuring that your signage is in the most visible location, is the correct size, and is designed with the surrounding area in mind is paramount.
Architectural lighting can further enhance visibility, providing a dynamic and eye-catching element.
In a world filled with distractions, visibility is the first step towards effective communication.
As Tony Robbins says: “Energy flows where attention goes”. 2.) Serviceability
A successful signage project goes beyond aesthetics; it’s about longevity, and ease of maintenance.
Investing in materials and designs that withstand the elements and require minimal upkeep is essential.
Imagine driving your car for three years and never taking it in for service; far too many signs can’t be properly serviced, or are willfully neglected. 3.) Compliance
Adhering to local regulations is crucial.
This includes (but is not limited to) considerations for size restrictions, zoning regulations, P.Eng., and electrical requirements.
Compliance not only avoids potential legal issues, but also contributes to a positive public image and community relations.
