Highlights
It's been hard to feel hopeful about the future with the state of the world today but #ClimateCap at Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management was inspiring and empowering. 200+ graduate students from across the nation with leaders across ranks and industries were willing to come together (on a weekend in single digit weather!) to discuss, share and plan for a cleaner, greener and more equitable future. Loved representing the Erb Institute at the University of Michigan and can't wait to continue the discourse #sustainability #ESG
In my global economics core at the University of Michigan - Stephen M. Ross School of Business class, a few classmates and I were asked to teach “corporate social responsibility” within 5 minutes of the last class. As you can imagine, I was shocked.
THIS podcast reveals why it is so imperative for our business leaders to challenge and transform our system, that has been broken, for so long; globalized and low-income communities have long held the burden of American consumption, consistently reinforced by shareholder values.
While some companies and shareholders embrace stakeholder capitalism, these discussions are only present in a small sect of business school. I hope that everyone listens and engages with the role we play in our global value chain because CSR WILL be a part of corporate business strategy, whether we learn how to create it ourselves or not.
