Hi, I'm Dillon. Usually I write about others but I've been pretty quiet these last few months...
It's because my previous start-up, Slipstream, imploded spectacularly.
We were trying to build a real-time credit bureau. Over the life of the company, we'd secured over $1m in funding commitments and had gotten into an awesome accelerator.
Yet, we imploded.
I'll share more about the how and why in subsequent posts but suffice to say Slipstream was the sole focus of my life.
When the company imploded, I completely lost my purpose -- not something I'd experienced before.
In the intervening months I had to figure out what to do with myself.
I explored a couple of new ideas in fintech, was asked co-found a creator economy start-up and even (dare I admit it) got a job offer or two in VC.
But I really re-discovered my excitement to build again when Will Dahlström and I started playing around with an idea in the legal AI space.
Over the coming weeks, I'll be writing about the things I learned from Slipstream, the new idea I'm working on with Will as well as writing about the coolest founders and companies I come across.
I'm also going to be hosting weekly dinners and meet-ups again (once I'm back in the UK).
We've been working on our new start-up for just 12 weeks but already have tonnes to share. But for now...
