Highlights
Building new products is a dizzying rollercoaster of lows and highs. The lows can look like lonely 2 AM nights in the office fighting off existential dread about whether you have product market fit; the highs, like having your first deal close where you beat out several incumbents.
Today’s GA of Retool Workflows marks a new high (and hopefully helps solve some of the existential dread 😅 ). We’ve helped thousands of customers, from startups to Fortune 500s, solve their business automation problems by allowing them to stitch together code, AI, and visual programming all without having to spin up any infrastructure.
I’m grateful for having the opportunity to be a part of Workflows and am excited to continue being surprised by what our customers build!

Excited to share what I've been working on for a bit now - a visual IDE for coding up cron jobs, alerts and some lightweight ETL - aptly named Retool Workflows.
We think tight feedback loops (think hot-reloading taken to the extreme) are what really supercharge engineering and lower the amount of energy needed to automate a business process.
That's why we built a IDE that lets you run any SQL query and snippet of code immediately and iteratively as you build out your logic. No more long build/deploy cycles, no more spinning up infrastructure and monitoring for small scripts.
Build product alerting (we use it to monitor dead tuples in our Postgres), light ETL (sync PagerDuty with Slack user groups so your @oncall group is always fresh) or something crazier (a webhook triggered support ticket routing system that uses the Google Calendar API to see who on your team is free at the moment so you can lower response times).
