STANDING together, one of our ethics initiatives, which was co-funded by The Health Foundation and supported by NIHR, published new standards for datasets which underpin AI systems. These standards will ensure datasets are diverse, inclusive and can support the development of AI systems that work across all demographic groups. https://lnkd.in/gWZCYuj5

And, oh yeah, the government held its AI Safety Summit this week, which saw delegates from around the world and leading industry figures discuss AI topics mainly concerned with the risks it could pose. The Summit concluded with 28 countries signed the Bletchley Declaration which agreed to international efforts to examine and address the potential impact of AI systems, and tech companies like Google DeepMind, OpenAI and Meta have agreed to allow regulators to test new AI tools before they are released. Today we announce 21£m for NHS Trusts who will be able to bid for funding to accelerate the deployment of the most promising AI tools across hospitals to help treat people more quickly this winter.
Government also commits to deploying AI decision support tools in all stroke networks by the end of 2023 to help treat strokes through improved diagnosis and access to treatment.
