Don Walker

Don Walker is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in designing surveillance avionics for a wide range of aircraft, from large commercial airliners like A380 and B747 to smaller single-engine Cessna planes.

He spent eight years at the FAA HQ, where he led the development of surveillance standards, focusing on ADS-B standards, policies, and guidance to meet the requirements of the 2020 ADS-B mandate.

Currently, Don is involved in a project team dedicated to developing machine learning (ML) computer vision automation for use in commercial aircraft systems.

He holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Engineering from Kansas State University.

Don has held key positions at renowned organizations such as Acubed, Honeywell, FAA, Honeywell Aerospace, and Rockwell Collins, showcasing his versatile expertise and leadership in the field of avionics and surveillance.
