Do your personal ethics and morals reflect in your business morals and ethics? I don't see how it is possible that they don't.
I had dealings with Bob Woodard, President at Sage Insurance out of Tuscola, Illinois. Bob Woodard offered some items for sale in order to provide a local family with a Christmas. I sent Bob Woodard his money and it cleared my account on December 23rd. He sent photos of the happy children but never sent me what I bought from him. Since December Bob Woodard has given me nothing but excuses. This isn't twenty bucks, it's over $500!
Personal ethics = Professional
On my last day with the company I was invited to a meeting to discuss operations, existing issues, and how to resolve the issues in the future. The executive VP joined the meeting and spoke to me for the first time in about 3 months. He congratulated me on my new job and I thanked him. He confirmed my new title as Chief Operations Officer and then told me that I was an important person now.
My answer... John, a title doesn't make someone important. It's their experience and expertise that makes them important. This is why I'm leaving, you never understood that.
It's a lesson he won't learn.
