Douglas Carney
CEO & Cofounder at Odin
Douglas Carney is the Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of ODIN, a company he established in February 2020. ODIN is known for being the first fully integrated software platform designed for managing workforce risk on large-scale construction sites. The company aims to improve safety and compliance in the construction industry by providing builders with tools to manage their workforce effectively, thereby reducing risks and ensuring projects stay on schedule and within budget.134
Before founding ODIN, Carney served as a Technical Lead at Soma Capital, where he has been involved since September 2018. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Rutgers University.235
Carney has a notable history in the startup ecosystem, having co-founded Tag, a social media application that was later acquired, and Renew, a platform that assists seniors in comparing and purchasing Medicare plans across the United States. His commitment to improving workplace safety in construction is personal; his grandfather suffered a life-altering injury in a construction accident, motivating Carney to create solutions that enhance safety in the industry.45

It was a pleasure and an honor to attend the Founders' Forum at Procore Technologies earlier this month. It was a fantastic opportunity to meet and speak with other founders from various types of businesses in and around the built world. The openness of the group and the sharing of our experiences was something really special that allowed me to make some great personal growth in a short period of time.
The ability to learn from the great minds at Procore how they have had success so far and continue to have success was something truly unique as well. I'd like to give a special shoutout to Riggs Kubiak for putting it all together.

“Mental health and psychological safety is just as important as physical safety on the job site,” said MJ MacDonald, CEO of Construction Safety Nova Scotia. I couldn't agree more - September is Suicide Prevention Month, but resources should be available all year round. #ConstructionSafety #Construction #JobSiteSafety
