Learning of a copywriter I had worked with recently pass due to a long battle with alcohol. I was painfully aware of this problem when we worked together. But I also want to say I saw brightness and life in them if even for just a moment. I don't know why I'm writing this update — besides to say it hurts.
✨ It's ADHD✨ It's always been ADHD. Every success, bitter failure and challenging interaction — has been me quietly battling against it. You've met beautifully masked versions of me; electric with abundant ideas that were absolutely the right solve, but for the wrong task-at-hand. Some of you have seen me at my absolute burned-out, dysregulated, I-just-want-to-dissapear worst.
It's been hard to finally admit that this is a part of who I am. I've ignored it — rejected and buried it for so long — to the detriment of myself, and to you. It's been even harder to share it with you because it changes everything — and nothing at all.
So just know, if we cross paths here or in-person, I am working through a lot because the cracks are harder to ignore. So I'll let them fall away because the reward is a better version of myself.
