Dr. Anbu Rathinavel is a dedicated advocate of Design Thinking, aiming to embed this approach in organizations and society. Currently, he is leading initiatives to foster collaborative designing using the world's inaugural 8012 FT Design Center in Chennai.

Dr. Anbu Rathinavel seamlessly integrates Indian cultural elements and mythologies into his interventions to create engaging learning environments. Drawing from centuries-old design approaches found in cultural traditions, such as food design and inspiration from nature, he showcases the richness of indigenous design practices.
With a background in Artificial Intelligence, Dr. Anbu is passionate about delving into the complexities of Human Emotions design. He actively engages with young adults to help them navigate emotional aspects of relationships through innovative concepts like Emotions Ladder and Collision Management, thereby integrating Design Thinking into everyday life.
Dr. Anbu Rathinavel holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science (Integrated Engineering), an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, and a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from esteemed institutions such as Ohio University and the College of Engineering, Guindy.
His professional journey includes significant roles at renowned organizations like SRM Innovation and Incubation Centre, Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, School of Design Thinking (where he was Head and Co-founder), Intellect Design Arena Ltd (as Chief Design Officer), Scope International (as Senior Vice President & Dean - Finance Academy), Polaris Financial Technology Limited (as Senior Vice President & Dean), Anna University Chennai (as Director, AU Ecommerce Center), and Concurrent Technologies Corporation (as Project Manager).

With a sprawling expanse of 30,000 sqft and a vision to redefine the boundaries of possibility, we have challenged conventions and embraced every challenge with fervour and determination. 8012 serves as a symbol of our commitment to excellence and our dedication to pushing boundaries. It was a privilege to have had the opportunity to teach a course in Design Thinking at Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta two years back as a visiting faculty. It is indeed a great learning experience to be associated with the premier business school in the country since then.
The journey evolved to forging a partnership with them to start a Center of Excellence in Design Thinking to leverage the power of our Design The Thinking® framework, authored by Arun Jain, in different aspects of their programs. Along with Mission Samriddhi we have now signed an agreement to take Design Thinking beyond mainstream curriculum to larger cause for the society.
