Dr David Miles, FHEA, is an Associate Lecturer and academic based in St Andrews, Scotland, United Kingdom.2 He holds a PhD in International Relations from the University of St Andrews and teaches at both the Open University and the School of International Relations at St Andrews.2

Dr Miles is the Editor of Global Politics Magazine and the author of the book "Democracy, the Courts, and the Liberal State: A Comparative Analysis of American and German Constitutionalism," published by Routledge in October 2020.21 His research interests include Comparative Politics, Political Theory, American and German Constitutionalism, International Relations, US foreign policy, and German history in the twentieth century.2

Prior to his academic career, Dr Miles worked for leading companies in the UK and Germany, including Santander, Lloyds TSB, and SAP.2 He has also contributed articles to publications such as Carnegie Ethics Online, the Scotsman, the Huffington Post, and Newsweek Daily Beast.2

Dr Miles was awarded a Carnegie Scholarship from The Carnegie Trust for the Universities of Scotland in June 2012 for his PhD studies on American and German constitutionalism.2 He is also a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy (FHEA).1
