His passion for education and religious studies led him to attain several Ijaazas, which are licenses to teach Quranic recitation and hadith narration. Notably, he received an Ijaaza in the recitation of Hafs in 1994, a certification that denotes high proficiency in Quranic recitation after three years of diligent study. In 2002, he furthered his education by receiving an Ijaaza in hadith narration after ten years of study, demonstrating his deep commitment to Islamic scholarship.
In 2007, Dr. Khalissi received another notable Ijaaza for his mastery of the ten different recitations of the Quran, following four years of study under Shaykh Muhsin al-Tarooti from Egypt.
Dr. Khalissi’s academic journey took a significant turn when he pursued a PhD in Mechanical Engineering at Monash University. His time at the university was marked by hard work and determination, culminating in the successful defense of his PhD on July 1, 2012. His research focused on key areas that enhance our understanding of mechanical and aerospace engineering, further establishing him as a leader in his field.

His role in leading the Taraweeh prayers during Ramadan at various mosques in Melbourne demonstrates his dedication to Islamic community service and leadership.
Moreover, Dr. Khalissi has dedicated himself to education by mentoring more than 30 students in the recitation of Hafs and the ten recitations of the Quran. This commitment to teaching and spreading knowledge reflects his passion for education and the importance he places on nurturing future scholars.
