I was super excited to cross the finish line with my mother in the crowd, a first for me. 💜
Some of you know the story of how we found each other during Covid from a 23&Me genetic test I took with my daughter so we could explore our health history. And so it was 51 years later, we connected.💞
Now 3 years into our journey we've completely reconnected. She traveled, at 82 years old, by herself from Jersey to Arizona to see me race the Aravaipa #mesquitecanyon 30k. I was moved to tears for this special gift I never dreamed. 💟
Momma continues to thank me for accepting her into my life and my heart beats with gratitude.💗
4 hour 3 minutes 19.31 miles 2608ft 14th female finish Momma waiting, tracking my progress on her phone, and greeting me as I crossed the finish line. 💪
We never know what road our journey's will take us. But with a growth mindset, courage, and kindness leading the way, we'll experience wonderful learning then if we just accepted "status quote."💮
Here's momma going for a 3 mile hike with me post race day at the Agua Fria National Monument. She rocked it. 🌵🌵🌵
