𝐀 𝐃𝐨𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐨𝐨𝐧!

Does this line sound familiar to you? I’m sure a lot of people have seen/heard this.   Yes, I’m talking about Telemedicine applications which have made it incredibly easier for everyone to get access to doctors without traveling through thicks & thins.

I once visited a village and was amazed to see how technology is transforming healthcare there.

𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞'𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠!

𝐀𝐬𝐡𝐚 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐬𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐩𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬 • Connecting villagers to doctors miles away • Sending photos of symptoms for quick diagnosis • Getting real-time advice on maternal and child health

𝐏𝐇𝐂𝐬 (𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬) 𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 • Video consultations with specialists • Maintaining electronic health records • Rapid test results through online labs

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐬 • Tracking vaccination schedules • Monitoring chronic conditions like diabetes • Providing mental health support discreetly

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭? It's huge. A recent pilot in Odisha showed a 40% reduction in unnecessary referrals to district hospitals. That means less time and money spent on travel, and quicker treatment.

But here's the thing - we're just getting started.

𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬? 𝐎𝐟 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞!

• Patchy internet in many areas (5G, we're waiting!) • Need for more vernacular language support in apps • Training our healthcare workers in new technologies • Consolation of face-to-face consultations, which a lot, still seeks

I keep a close watch, and IT and healthcare never fails to amaze me. The way technology is helping medicine and healthcare techniques to evolve is really worth noticing.

How many of you have availed telemedicine at least once? Is it anyway better than visiting in person?

What's your take? Are you working on innovative telemedicine solutions? How can we accelerate adoption in rural areas?

Also, let's brainstorm: What's the next big breakthrough in rural telemedicine? Drop your predictions below!

Even though Clinical trials take years, mankind demonstrated how well they can adapt and change dynamically when the time is crucial!

Covishield, Covaxin and others came into existence within 1 year!

Clinical trials are crucial for medical advancements, but they often face hurdles like long timelines, high costs, and tons of data.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐟 𝐰𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐰𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐝𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐝-𝟏𝟗?

Yes, it’s very much possible with AI.

Clinical trials involve several critical factors, and the way AI is advancing, I can only imagine how it can be our ‘Pal’ in day-to-day life. (and it has already begun!)

Imagine a world where patient recruitment is faster and more accurate. 𝐀𝐈 𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐛𝐢𝐠 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐭𝐨 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐥𝐲, 𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐦𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐥𝐲.

And let’s talk about data – it’s massive and complex. AI helps by automating data collection and analysis, reducing human error, and freeing up researchers to focus on the big picture.

𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐀𝐈 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬.

It can foresee how patients might respond to treatments, helping to forecast outcomes that otherwise would have taken months.

AI also brings flexibility. With adaptive trial designs, adjustments can be made in real-time based on incoming data, speeding up the entire process.

It might be a buzzword right now, but the rapid advancement of AI in different fields is significant. And interesting, to see how it’s catering to healthcare in general.

What are your thoughts on AI’s application in healthcare? Where else do you think AI is advancing?
