Good news today on the fight for our health!

"EPA mandate requires reducing PFAS in drinking water to minimal levels"

70% of Americans have a chronic illness, and it's my opinion that the over 10,000 chemicals allowed in our food and thousands more polluting our rivers, streams, air, and drinking water are a major contributor to our physical and mental health struggle.

It's a startling fact: nearly half of the tap water in the United States is contaminated with PFAS, a group of chemicals known to cause severe health issues.

This is a pressing issue that demands our immediate attention. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced that municipal utilities must detect and eliminate PFAS from drinking water. PFAS, which stands for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, are a class of compounds characterized by a strong carbon-fluoride bond, rendering them highly resistant to various environmental factors.

Widely used in everyday products like cookware, clothing, and cosmetics, PFAS accumulate in the environment and human bodies due to their indestructible nature, leading to pervasive contamination of water sources across the country.

Exposure to PFAS has been linked to liver damage, immune system impairment, birth defects, and increased risks of various cancers and chronic diseases, according to research.

Despite mounting evidence of their harmful effects, regulatory action has been delayed, partly due to the concealment of risks by chemical companies.

The recent EPA mandate requires reducing PFAS in drinking water to minimal levels, yet legal challenges and potential policy reversals could prolong the process, highlighting the ongoing struggle to address widespread PFAS contamination effectively.
