It has been a few days, and it seems the news is real that our film has been nominated for the 2022 Emmy Award for Outstanding Historical Documentary…wow!   It is truly remarkable that an email I sent in February 2019 to my brother and business partner, Tim Brosnan, about creating the branding for a documentary film idea I had, then calling up my Strategic Films family - Candy S. Fletcher and Jill Fletcher - and, Terry Alexander about the project would three years later bring us to this point.   I thank PBS and SCETV – Anthony Padgett and Adrienne F. Fairwell – for their willingness to partner with us and Don Godish for bringing us Susie Films – Scott Galloway, Sheri Hirshman and family - as a partner and our leader in the process of making this film. I sincerely thank our corporate partners and sponsors, Dominion Energy – Jonathan Yarborough, Stephanie Jones, Rodney Blevins, Damon Jeter and family, Synovus Bank – Ginny Pope, Chuck Garnett and family, Eastern Distribution – Carolyn Smith, and The ETV Endowment of South Carolina – Coby Cartrette Hennecy, CPA, CFRE, Julie Lonon, MA, CFRE, for their commitment to storytelling, education, appreciation of history and bringing important stories to life. I hope the film delivered the unique and impactful partnership opportunity we promised.   Finally, I am truly thankful to the entire film family and team for their unwavering commitment and fantastic work – you are terrific and brilliant people – Xavier Blake, Titus Davis, Jeremy Cauthen, Tyler MyCale, Selena Lauterer – Artemis Independent, Fred Monk – Storyline Music+Mix, Abby Stilwell, MBA and all! I am deeply grateful to the exceptional individuals who agreed to participate in the film – a truly remarkable and historic group! And I am incredibly thankful for my friends and family – yes, TC Cooper came up with the word Downing – who support my unforeseen interests and endeavors … I will be calling on you soon on some new ones. Emmy winners are announced in September. Please keep us in your prayers and keep your fingers crossed!
