Duane Roen

Vice Provost, Polytechnic campus at Arizona State University

Dr. Duane Roen has a strong background in English education and linguistics, with a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota. His specialties lie in teaching writing, writing program administration, and writing curriculum and pedagogy.

Dr. Roen has held various significant leadership positions in academic institutions. He served as the Vice Provost at the Polytechnic campus, Dean of the College of Integrative Sciences and Arts, Interim Dean of University College, and Interim Director of the School of Letters and Sciences at Arizona State University.

Prior to his roles at Arizona State University, Dr. Roen was the Assistant Vice Provost for University Academic Success Programs. He also held academic positions at the University of Arizona and Arizona State University as an Associate Professor and Professor, respectively.

Dr. Roen has also been actively involved in professional organizations within his field. He has served as the President of the Council of Writing Program Administrators and as the Secretary of the Conference on College Composition and Communication.

With his vast experience in academia, leadership roles, and contributions to writing education, Dr. Duane Roen continues to be a prominent figure in the field of English education.
