Duncan McKie

Duncan McKie served as the President and CEO of FACTOR (The Foundation Assisting Canadian Talent On Recordings) from December 2010 until December 31, 2023.12 He had a distinguished career in culture, media, market research, and regulatory affairs before joining FACTOR. Prior to his role at FACTOR, McKie was the President of the Canadian Independent Music Association (CIMA, formerly CIRPA) from 2007 to 2010.1

During his tenure at FACTOR, McKie oversaw important initiatives, including the administration of relief programs for Heritage Canada in the English market during the COVID-19 pandemic.1 His leadership helped FACTOR continue its mission of providing financial and creative support to Canadian artists and the music industry.2

After his retirement from FACTOR, McKie planned to return to Quebec, where he maintains residences in Montreal and the Laurentides region north of Quebec City.1
