I’m so thankful for all of those that I met for the first time in-person or for the first time in far too long.
A few cherry-picked highlights: meeting amazingly thoughtful governors, seeing many creators working their magic, meeting the lovely Walz family, watching Colbert tape live with 4,000 others, getting inspired by Kamala and the Obamas, and even learning how to properly make a Chicago hot dog.
Yes, the coverage focuses on the joy, but I want to give a shout out to the organizers for allowing us to embrace our patriotism proudly. Everyone had a flag to wave, and chants of “USA” broke out frequently.
It really did feel like the most united I’ve seen the party since I started working in politics. And it makes sense since we’re fighting for what a majority of Americans want: good schools, safe communities, the chance to make a good living, and the personal freedoms we hold most dear.
