Hey fellow Nexties and animal lovers everywhere! I know many of you have been sharing amazing dog photos lately. While we love dogs too, I couldn't help but share some photos of our new sanctuary horse, Eli. He's a Hanoverian warmblood, weighing 1,800 pounds and standing at 17.3 hands at the withers. He's towering over me, and I'm six feet tall!

Why, you might ask, am I showcasing this animal among so many dog photos? Well, Eli is quite a large baby, and regardless of his size, he behaves like a dog!

Let's pretend he's a dog for this post. Why, you ask? Well, the other day, he leaned his big head on my shoulder, then lay at my feet and asked for a belly rub. And, of course, I obliged. He's a bit clumsy and his feet naturally point inward, so you need to watch out for him when he runs up to you. Nevertheless, we adore this big boy, and he's starting to get comfortable and get used to his smaller sheep friends. He's not really a sheepdog, though, because he can be a bit aggressive during feeding time and chases away the little ones to make sure he gets enough hay or alfalfa. But he's starting to learn from Cowgirl, the older shepherdess mare, and is getting used to being around the sheep.

Eli has been on the ranch for about a month now. We paired him with Cowgirl, who is 23 years old and his senior. The sorrel mare is the boss of that pasture, and he treats her with respect. He often hangs his head over the different fence lines to communicate with the mule and many of the donkeys here.

He will have some more equine company shortly. Two Mustangs from the BLM will be coming out of quarantine and joining us on Sunday. Their names are Royal (6 years old) and Stoney (3 years old). They are both bay geldings from Nevada and Utah, respectively. If any of you are traveling through Waco soon let me know and I can make arrangements for you to see them.

Dear friends, I am delighted to announce that I will be collaborating with Sheri Greenhaus, the Managing Partner of CRMXchange and eCRMevents, for a session titled "How to Measure Your CX Maturity Using the Five Compass Points of Success." Although we could have chosen a shorter title, a baker's dozen o' words seemed more enticing. Rest assured, it will be an engaging and insightful session!

Sheri is an expert in customer experience and contact centers. For about 30 years, she has organized events, managed an online portal, and provided consulting services in this field. What's particularly interesting about her is that she has extensive practical experience as a contact center practitioner. I'm really excited about the upcoming event, especially because her interview style is highly engaging and thoughtful.

Please join us for a discussion on some key points from my new book, "Mastering the Customer Experience." We will explore how CX practitioners can utilize our established maturity model, and learn how to visualize the intersection between transactional volume, complexity, and modalities. Our focus will also be on the "Five Compass Points of Success," which represent the top five essential CX touchpoints.

The fun starts Tuesday, August 20th @ 10am PT Here is the link to register: https://bit.ly/3Y8ApK1
