Highlights
Yesterday, I chaired a pivotal meeting at our office, engaging with industry leaders in Blockchain Tech and AI based in Dubai, Shanghai, and Kuala Lumpur.
Blockchain technology and fintech have grown exponentially worldwide. As of 2021, the global blockchain market size was valued at over USD 3 billion and is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 69.4% from 2022 to 2028. This exponential growth highlights the trust and investment being placed in this transformative technology. On the fintech side, the global market was valued at about USD 127.66 billion in 2018 and is projected to reach USD 309.98 billion by 2023.
I was honored to host my close associate in the Blockchain Technology VC world, Mr. Roman J. MA. He's the founder of Ceras Ventures and a distinguished figure on China’s Forbes 30 under 30 list, operating out of both New York and Dubai.
Mr. MA's VC portfolio, now valued at an impressive USD 50 million, showcases his insight into this booming sector. It includes investments in globally renowned blockchain enterprises at their seed capital stages, such as Polygon, Polkadot, Solana, Kucoin, Mintverse, and many more.
Our discussions revolved around the development of the Web 3.0 ecosystem, particularly from a Venture Capital perspective focusing on the ASEAN and Middle East markets. These regions are of particular interest as Asia-Pacific fintech investments reached over USD 16.8 billion in 2019 alone, marking it as a hotbed for innovation.
Furthermore, we're excited to announce the establishment of the International Blockchain Organisation (IBO). This entity emphasizes nurturing players in the Blockchain Technology sector. We're also excitedly promoting the upcoming World Blocktech Forum 2023 scheduled for 21st to 23rd November at the World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur.
It's worth noting that the World Blocktech Forum will collaborate with both Ceras Ventures and the Qitmeer Foundation, key international players in the Blockchain industry, based in Dubai, Shanghai, and New York.
