A ideia era conectar as máquinas desta fazenda, de tratores a colheitadeiras, para ter acesso a informações em tempo real sobre a lavoura de soja, milho e sorgo. E assim se tornou um case de sucesso no agronegócio!

I’m excited to share my participation in the series "Cities of Tomorrow," created by "Brasil do Futuro," UOL's innovation brand. The series highlights the transformation of Água Boa (MT), a city that has become a benchmark in agribusiness connectivity, thanks to the Connected Farm initiative by Case IH.
It was through this initiative that a cellphone tower brought the city out of the "offline world." The idea was to connect the farm's machinery, from tractors to harvesters, to access real-time information on the soybean, corn, and sorghum crops. This has become a successful case in agribusiness!
In the episode, I explain how the platform we use works to monitor the farm's productivity, with daily data and summaries from each machine. A big thank you to UOL and Helton for the warm reception and the invitation to participate in the series!

Na minha ida à Pittsburgh (EUA) no último mês, visitei a Carnegie Mellon University e pude acompanhar iniciativas interessantes que vêm sendo desenvolvidas por lá.
O laboratório que o Professor Kantor coordena faz parte do Instituto de robótica da Universidade e atua em pesquisas direcionadas ao desenvolvimento de técnicas para percepção e manipulação de plantas usando robôs. Estas técnicas viabilizam várias aplicações tais como: detecção e colheita de frutas, previsão de rendimento, avaliação de saúde, poda e manejo de culturas, entre outras. As universidades e centros de pesquisa são atores fundamentais do conceito ECOSSISTEMA DE INOVAÇÃO. As pesquisas desenvolvidas no instituo de robótica da Carnegie Mellon estão relacionados à transformação digital por meio das diversas tecnologias que podem ser empregadas na agricultura. E assim pudemos identificar possibilidades de parcerias em função de diversas demandas que temos no Brasil, como é o caso da colheita mecanizada de citrus!

During my visit to Pittsburgh (USA) last month, I had the opportunity to visit Carnegie Mellon University and explore some of the fascinating initiatives being developed there.
The lab led by Professor Kantor is part of the University's Robotics Institute and focuses on research aimed at developing techniques for perceiving and manipulating plants using robots. These techniques enable a variety of applications such as fruit detection and harvesting, yield prediction, health assessment, pruning, and crop management, among others. Universities and research centers are fundamental players in the concept of the INNOVATION ECOSYSTEM. The research conducted at Carnegie Mellon's Robotics Institute is closely related to digital transformation through the various technologies that can be employed in agriculture. We were able to identify potential partnerships based on several demands we have in Brazil, such as mechanized citrus harvesting!
