The most important question in calorie counting and work-life balancing is:

“Is it worth it?”

I ask myself this question before committing to anything outside of work, and I would encourage people in high-intensity roles, like lawyers and founders, to do the same.

For example, if you hate museums, don’t go along on a 4 hour museum tour. Learning to say “no” to plans that don’t interest you not only protects your time, but ensures the time you spend with others is more enjoyable!

The idea of a perfect work-life balance is difficult to attain, but by being more intentional about how you spend your time, you can optimize the “life” part more effectively.
