Highlights
Deeply proud of the Terray Therapeutics team, and humbled to welcome NVIDIA to our journey. In connection with our announcement last week, NVIDIA published this case study, which is especially meaningful because it took every member of our team (now nearly 100 strong) to make it happen. What we all now know from ChatGPT, DALL-E, and other generative platforms is that you need massive amounts of data to harness the power of modern computation. In drug discovery, there hasn’t been an experimental platform that can generate high-quality data at sufficient scale and with a sufficiently iterative experimental workflow to deliver on the promise of generative design… until Terray. In the past 18 months alone, we have measured more than 2 billion compound/target interactions, and we can iterate in weeks what would take months (or years) in a traditional approach. So, why am I so proud of this case study? To harness the power of generative AI for drug discovery, you need a language that converts molecules to vectors and then converts them back to molecules. Because of the limitations of existing approaches, our machine learning team developed an entirely new molecular language to solve this problem. We call it COATI, and we trained it on the most powerful computing platform in the world at NVIDIA. But like all computational tools, it is only valuable if you have sufficient data to leverage, which we do. Terray’s integration of chemical experimentation and computation on an unprecedented scale is bringing big change to small molecule discovery and development. We are going to transform patient lives. So very proud to be a part of this team.
