Elio DeLuca is a musician, arranger, recording and mix engineer, and producer who plays several instruments and works as a sideman for other artists, as well as a live and studio engineer.1 He is the co-proprietor and head engineer at The Soul Shop, a classic analog recording studio in Medford, Massachusetts, which he and guitarist/technician Patrick Grenham built in 2007.214 Their aim with The Soul Shop was to provide the Boston area with an affordable, classic analog recording environment.1

DeLuca is a Boston native.1 He has been involved in making records such as the debut album from Stephen Konrads & the Eternals and an EP for the Brooklyn band Wilder Maker.1 He has also been a member of Faces On Film, playing organ and percussion, and plays organ in Marc Valois's project, Blinders.1 DeLuca spent time in New York working on the forthcoming Titus Andronicus album, where he has been their session pianist since their first record.1 He also tracked and mixed one side of an album for Dan Webb & the Spiders.1

According to his LinkedIn profile, DeLuca is a multi-instrumentalist, classically trained in piano and composition, and self-taught in the art of analog and digital recording.3 He received an English degree from Tufts University.5
