Elisabeth VERLUYTEN is an accomplished individual with a robust educational background and an impressive history of engagements in humanitarian and international organizations.

She holds a Master's degree in Public Administration from Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam and has studied at Bernardinus College.

With a wealth of experience, Elisabeth has held various high-profile roles in reputable organizations:

  • Currently, she serves as the Head of Sector Movement Cooperation for the Americas region at the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

  • Previously, she was the Cooperation Coordinator at ICRC and the Deputy Country Representative/Head of Strategic Relations and Cooperation at IFRC.

  • Elisabeth has also served as the Operations Coordinator for Hurricane Sandy at IFRC and as the Regional Program Coordinator for Asia at The Netherlands Red Cross Society.

  • Her expertise extends to being the Program Manager for Lebanon at The Netherlands Red Cross and the Multilateral Delegate in Libya for ICRC.

  • Further showcasing her dedication, Elisabeth has served as the Head of Office in Central Mindanao/Cotabato - Philippines, and as the (Deputy) Head of Subdelegation in the Gaza Strip, both at ICRC.

  • She has also contributed her skills as an Emergency Officer in Haiti at PAHO-WHO and as the Country Representative for Haiti at The Netherlands Red Cross.

  • Additionally, Elisabeth's professional journey includes a role as a Medewerker at the Dutch Ministry of Justice (IND) and as an interim Program Manager in the Africa Department at CORDAID.
