Elise Hu is an experienced journalist and international correspondent, currently serving as the Seoul bureau chief for NPR in East Asia, focusing on coverage of the Koreas and Japan.

With a background in technology, culture reporting, and state politics, Elise has held various roles at NPR, including coordinating digital development for StateImpact.

Prior to joining NPR, she played key roles in launching and overseeing online news platforms like The Texas Tribune, where she drove editorial innovation and expanded coverage.

Elise Hu's journalism career began with reporting for TV stations in different cities, culminating in her current position as a respected correspondent and video host at NPR.

Fluent in Mandarin Chinese, Elise is an active member of the Asian American Journalists Association, with a passion for following congressional hearings in her free time.
