Elizabeth Breeden, known as Beth Breeden, is a prominent figure in the health informatics sector with over 32 years of experience.

She specializes in clinical informatics, cognitive computing, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies like blockchain.

Beth is the founding director of the Master of Science in Health Care Informatics (MHCI) and dual PharmD/MHCI programs at Lipscomb University's College of Pharmacy.

Under her leadership, the PGY2 Pharmacy Informatics Residency was developed and she was the Residency Program Director (RPD) for 9 years.

She also played a key role in establishing the Lipscomb-Life Point Health PGY1 and 2 Pharmacy Informatics Residency programs.

One of Beth's notable achievements is the collaboration between Lipscomb University and IBM Watson Analytics, making it the first college of pharmacy to integrate Watson Analytics in research and curriculum.

Her versatile background includes roles in academia, health system pharmacy, and the health-system software development industry.

In her various positions, she has excelled in defining product strategies, managing software development life cycles, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards for clinical products.

Beth's academic journey includes a Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, a Pharmacy degree from Samford University, and a Master of Science in Molecular Biology from Austin Peay State University.

Throughout her career, she has held distinguished roles such as Professor of Pharmacy and Chair of Health Care Informatics, Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice, Director of Graduate Studies in Health Care Informatics, and PGY2 Pharmacy Informatics Residency Director at Lipscomb University.

She has also contributed to the industry as a Senior Product Manager in Pharmacy at HMS and gained practical experience as a Pharmacist at Baptist Hospital and a Lab Tech at Vanderbilt University's Matrisian Lab.
