Highlights
I've been producing and reporting for about two years now. I am grateful for my community access station and my internship that allowed me to build the skills and put in the work...because it led me to getting paid for this kind of work for the first time. Furthermore, I am thankful to every person who gave me their time and shared their stories with me. Please listen and read.
I spent the last seven days at a Transom Traveling Workshop in Allston's Podcast Garage, doing what I love most: producing for audio.
It was incredibly intense--long days and nights. There was a lot of learning and even more work, but it was a beautiful week that culminated with a live event in which all of the students in the workshop (there were ten of us) premiered our work to the world.
I am basking in the joy of what it meant to be able to spend seven entire days focusing on myself and creating work that I am so proud of. It didn't come without sacrifice, but I would do it all over. The money, the time, the work--it was all an investment in myself and my career. And now I feel more prepared than ever to tell stories through this medium.
I am feeling so grateful: for this opportunity to learn and follow my curiosity, for the support from my friends and family, for the incredible teachers I had during the week and to the woman who let me interview her.
And lastly, I am grateful for myself. For pursuing this great opportunity and investing #in myself. Telling the story I told. And keeping it moving.
