Her most recent role as the Executive Director at Communities In Schools of the Nation's Capital involved forging partnerships to provide essential resources to DC Public Schools, catering to the unique needs of each school community and its students.

Prior to her work at CIS, Ellen served as the President and CEO of the DC Children and Youth Investment Trust Corporation, where she played a key role in establishing a pioneering public-private partnership aimed at enhancing services for children and youth in the District of Colombia.

Ellen also has a rich background in the non-profit sector, having worked at Volunteers of America, Bay Area, where she was instrumental in reintegrating the organization into the service community. She oversaw the successful launch of innovative programs like the Day Labor Program and the Brandon House Women's Shelter in San Jose.

Her educational background includes studying Strategic Perspectives in Nonprofit Management at Harvard Business School Executive Education and earning a Bachelor of Music in Performance from the University of Richmond. This diverse academic foundation has equipped her with a unique skill set to drive social change effectively.
