Ellen Sherby

Ellen Sherby is a dedicated and strategic team leader with over twenty years of experience in non-profit church work in Nicaragua and the U.S.

She has a strong background in bringing people from diverse cultures and languages together through short-term mission trips, delegations, and long-term partnerships.

Since 2009, Ellen has been involved with Presbyterian World Mission in PC(USA)'s national office, where she excels in coordinating staff, managing visions and goals, and overseeing budgets.

Ellen is passionate about fostering a sense of community among staff members, helping them develop their strengths and gifts while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

She is experienced in leading workshops on best practices in short-term missions, mission partnerships, priority setting for mission committees, and other mission-related topics.

Ellen's talents extend beyond leadership to music, as she enjoys singing and playing guitar to bring people together in worship or to enrich meetings.

Active in various ministries, Ellen is involved with the Mid-Kentucky Presbytery's Hispanic/Latino Ministry and serves as a ruling elder and Sunday School teacher at Beechmont Presbyterian Church.

She holds a Master's degree in Pedagogy from the National Autonomous University of Nicaragua, a Master of Divinity from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary, and a BA in Religious Studies with a minor in Spanish from Macalester College.

Ellen's dedication to fostering unity, promoting mission involvement, and nurturing community shines through her professional and personal endeavors.
