Having layers of childcare is really not enough for working parents sometimes.

My oldest kid had to be out of daycare Tuesday-Friday this week with [something that goes around day cares and is contagious but really he's fine].

We call our backup childcare who had us covered Tuesday-Thursday, but has an appt Friday and can't take over until 2 PM.

So, here I am cobbling together: an hour before my kids wake up, 2 hours while my sister watches him (after working her own 12 hour night shift!!), and then 2-6:30 trying to get a full day of work in.

This isn't a sob story. What a luxury to have this support around me- our nanny, my sister, my husband, my BIL- who all moved things around to help make this week work. But, whoof. It has been some mental gymnastics.
