Highlights
Last month I made the bittersweet decision to say goodbye to Loom after 2 years. 💜
My time as a Loommate came with a lot of gifts: the opportunity to build and lead a holistic communications team + program, a chance to dig into internal comms (a passion area of mine!), the opportunity to become a Product Marketing Manager for ~6 months and lead a set of particularly exciting product launches, and most importantly, the chance to work with an incredible set of humans.
My marketing teammates and xfn partners were some of the most creative, kind, tenacious people I've ever worked with. 💯 There are truly too many of you to tag here, but if you even think you might be on that list, I can guarantee you are. :)
After a bit of a break, I'm excited to share that my next step is a new adventure in a familiar place: LaunchSquad! ✨
I rejoined the squad this week as a VP to help fast-growth SaaS startups tell their stories, build creative comms programs, and bring their products to market. I couldn't be more humbled to be working with this team of unmatched storytellers again.
Want to work with me again on comms? You know where to find me! ⬇
The case for better comms leaders via Axios last week, summarized in my favorite excerpts:
➡️ Why it matters: Communications is now arguably the most important skill for any leader and function inside any organization, big or small. And most suck at it.
➡️ Let this sink in: Almost every leader at every company spends most of their time communicating — yet no one teaches you how to do it efficiently, effectively and profitably.
➡️ Have a communicator at your right hand. If you aren't a natural-born communicator, with authentic expertise, your head of comms or marketing is as vital to you as your COO or your CFO.
I've loved getting to grow the comms function into a far broader role at Loom over the past ~15 months. 🔥 This article breaks down exactly why it's such an important role + how it's become even more critical since 2020: https://lnkd.in/gwBsv9Eh
