Today marks the 20th Anniversary of #SaferInternetDay, a day created to raise awareness of the need for online safety. As a mom of two, I’m always thinking about how to keep my kids safe. As a leader at Meta, I care deeply about building products across our platforms that provide safe environments for teens and families.

I’m proud of the work we’re doing to help teens feel safe on our apps and the resources we’re developing for families with partners like ConnectSafely. Across apps like Instagram, Facebook and Meta Quest VR, we’re empowering parents with tools and information they can use when talking to their kids about how to stay safe wherever they are on the internet. Sharing some helpful resources below:

Nicole Lopez from Meta talks about ways parents can strengthen their conversations with kids, set up parental supervision tools, and guide their teens to take advantage of Meta’s 30+ tools to help them feel safer and more mindful: https://lnkd.in/gQmV3zRn

Jordan Fieulleteau and Anne Hobson discuss the ways families can safely explore metaverse experiences: https://lnkd.in/gY_vdm3c

Our partner ConnectSafely shares ‘Tips for Parents to Support Positive Online Habits’ in a new article featured on the Family Center: https://lnkd.in/gU-wCbSd

Attached is a new infographic outlining “How Meta's and tools support age-appropriate experiences” across our apps

These are just some of the resources we hope parents and teens use when exploring our apps. For more, visit Meta’s Family Center and Safety Center. #SID2023
