Chief Operating Officer at 16 Tech Community Corporation
Emily Krueger is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the 16 Tech Community Corporation, a nonprofit organization responsible for the development of the 16 Tech Innovation District in Indianapolis, Indiana. She joined 16 Tech in May 2018 as the Chief Operating Officer and was promoted to her current role effective June 1, 2022, succeeding Bob Coy.124
Background and Education
Krueger is a native of Indiana and began her career working for former U.S. Senator Richard G. Lugar, where she held various positions on Capitol Hill and in campaign roles. Before joining 16 Tech, she served as Vice President of Administration at Lacy Diversified Industries (LDI), one of Indiana's largest private companies.124 She holds a bachelor's degree from Valparaiso University and an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. Additionally, she was a Fulbright grant recipient.45
Role at 16 Tech
As COO, Krueger played a crucial role in the early development of the 16 Tech district, which spans 50 acres and aims to foster innovation and economic opportunity. Under her leadership, significant investments have been made in infrastructure, with over $130 million allocated since her arrival.124 In her current capacity as CEO, she focuses on enhancing the mission and vision of the organization, facilitating physical development, engaging with local communities, and promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in Central Indiana.13
Community Involvement
Krueger is also actively involved in various nonprofit organizations focused on health and education. She has served as the past Board Chair for Timmy Global Health and has held committee positions with several other organizations including The Mind Trust and Christel House International.24
Recognition
In recognition of her contributions to the community and leadership in innovation, Krueger was named to the Indiana 250 list in 2024, which honors influential leaders in the state.45
