Last week was so energizing with SF Climate Week! Recapping some events I attended:

📌 Change Management Workshop An interactive workshop on a vital skill in climate. Lizzy Kolar also discussed change management in practice at Scope Zero, a carbon savings account (CSA) benefit that might interest many HR folks. Thank you Emma Schain and Melinda Briana Epler for hosting!

💸 Navigating Climate Finance by Women in Climate Investing & Finance, Banyan Infrastructure, Elemental Excelerator, Pulse Fund, Streamline Climate, Energize Capital, & Mercury Three panels covered topics including scaling CDR, investor insights, and non-dilutive financing. My key takeaway was the major financial and operational hurdle ahead for CDR/FOAK companies in commercialization. To address this, founders should seek investors who align on impact and employ experienced operational experts early on.

💰 Sustainability VC Panel by Global Climate Solutions, BEE Connected, Buzzable, California Software Professional Association Multiple VCs shared their investment approach. Some positive founder characteristics: adaptability, battle-tested, and long-term thinking. Yellow flags: discord within leadership and lack of competitor respect.

🌮 Women and Climate Breakfast A personal favorite, featuring inspiring perspectives on social impact, policy, startups, and finance. This was my first WAC event, and I look forward to many more.

💼 Climate Career Pivots Panel Great conversation with Terra.do alumni—Joselyn Lai, Lisa P., Blair Swedeen, Philip Y Li, and Scott Miller —about their climate journeys. Thank you Rachel for the invite :)

👕 Swishing (aka clothing swap) A fun idea to freshen up your closet in an eco-friendly manner. Futerra and Everlane's thoughtful planning, such as setting ground rules and creating a store format, made the experience extra special.

✨ Final shoutout to Rachel Clair, Lyla Warren, Morgan Campbell, Gabriel Dover, Matthew Joehnk, John Tripp, MBA and others behind the scenes who made this mostly volunteer-run 15,000+ person conference happen. I loved working with ya'll! ✨
