Save the Date! Join the Milwaukee Region of the Legal Mentor Network for a networking happy hour on October 22, 2024 at 5:30 PM—hosted at Husch Blackwell LLP (511 N. Broadway).

The Legal Mentor Network is a nationwide organization dedicated to fostering mentorship between attorneys and law students. Since 2021, it has created a supportive environment where experienced legal professionals share their knowledge, insights, and guidance with law students and new/younger attorneys.

This year, we’re kicking off the Milwaukee Region of LMN with a happy hour on October 22, 2024.

The Milwaukee regional co-chairs--Attorney Barbra A. Klug (Senior Counsel at Kohler Co.), Jeunesse M. Rutledge (Corporate Counsel at S.C. Johnson & Son, Inc.), and me--welcome you and your network to attend this event, with the goal of growing Milwaukee’s base of mentors and mentees alike.

Mentors should have 5+ years of barred experience. Mentees should be law students or attorneys with less than five years of experience. Both can sign up to participate here and all are welcome at the event!

Mentees should drive the relationship and LMN provides training and other gatherings every year—connecting attorneys and law students nationwide and providing valuable training and networking opportunities.

Parking will be provided at the Milwaukee event, as well as appetizers and beverages.

August 30, 2024--the last business day of the month, so time for my monthly reflection and recap. This month, I got to:

☀️ Speak about "Tall Poppy Syndrome" at the ABA's Annual Meeting and Conference;

☀️ Have 1:1 meetings, lunches, and coffees with colleagues near and far;

☀️ Cut six inches off my hair;

☀️ See Travis Barker drum his heart out live;

☀️ Give a presentation on mindfulness through time management;

☀️ Meet and then exceed my hours goal for the month; and

☀️ Move Up North.

It has been a mix of calm + chaos and I enjoyed it very much.

I'm looking forward to a big, big September. I truly cannot wait.

Pausing to look back on each month helps me remember all I've done, rather than just pressing ahead with what still needs to be done.

Here's to three more weeks of summer before fall sets in.

✌️🔥❤️
