Last week, Banque Nationale du Canada announced some major changes that are perfectly in line with our ambition and values. First, we made a step to achieve our ambition of speeding up implementation of our new business model by naming Michael Denham to lead the Commercial and Banque Nationale Gestion privée 1859 sector. For more than a year now, Stéphane Achard and I have been working on combining the strengths of business banking and private banking. This is a first for our industry! I am proud of the incredibly positive impact this approach is having on our employees, our clients and the Bank. We owe this success to ongoing discussions and work with the executive committee, our clients, employees and all our partners. With this solid foundation established, I am proud that Michael is now in a position to lead this group to even more success across Canada. His extensive experience among the country’s leaders, particularly as head of BDC, and the past year he has spent with us are sure to result in success. He can count on me for my cooperation and trust. Then, we made a change that reflects our values. I am pleased to announce my appointment to a brand new role that has been created at the Bank, Head of Client Relations. This is an extremely motivating mandate as it calls on my expertise, knowledge, closeness and passion for clients. Over the past 10 years, Private Banking 1859 has gained an unparalleled reputation for offering our clients and their families sound advice, but also for developing a completely new client base. It took a great deal of synergy within the Bank and all sectors to adopt this approach. What led to our success is also what makes National Bank so unique: how close our executives are to our clients who are facing increasingly difficult challenges these days. My appointment to this position is therefore in keeping with our pursuit of this vision. It is further proof of the care and attention we give our clients and our desire to always exceed our goals. In my 26 years at the Bank, I’ve seen a number of new client-centric initiatives. Success in this next chapter will again rely on teamwork that brings together the expertise, agility and passion of the talented people at the Bank who serve our clients. I could not have achieved my accomplishments without the support of my teams, mentors and colleagues, and our clients’ trust. I would like to thank Stéphane for sharing part of the journey with me, Michael for his collaboration, Laurent Ferreira for his confidence in me, and all our teams for their energy.
